Présentation de HK Express
HK Express, de son nom complet Hong Kong Express Airways Limited, est une compagnie aérienne hongkongaise créée en 2004. Elle a fait le choix en 2013 d’opérer un virage dans sa politique commerciale en s’orientant sur un modèle "low-cost" afin de booster son trafic de voyageurs. Elle se distingue ainsi de sa société-sœur Hong Kong Airlines.
HK Express dessert une trentaine de destinations, essentiellement en Chine ainsi que dans d’autres pays asiatiques tels que la Corée du Sud, la Thaïlande, le Cambodge, le Vietnam et le Japon. Son siège se situe à l’aéroport international de Hong Kong. Celui-ci constitue sa principale plateforme de correspondance pour les vols qu’elle assure.
La compagnie aérienne hongkongaise propose uniquement des cabines en classe économique. Comme dans toute compagnie low-cost, il est possible de bénéficier de services à bord moyennant des suppléments. C’est le cas pour la consommation d’aliments ou de boissons, mais aussi pour pouvoir profiter de sièges premium et d’un accès prioritaire aux enregistrements. Selon le vol, il est également possible de payer davantage pour pouvoir enregistrer son bagage en soute. Cela donne l’opportunité à ceux voyageant léger de tirer profit de tarifs avantageux.
La flotte de HK Express est presque exclusivement composée d’avions du concepteur français Airbus (A320neo, A320-200, A321-200). Ces appareils sont identifiables à leur livrée violet et rouge. Leur particularité est qu’ils possèdent tous un large motif violet représentant les gratte-ciels de Hong Kong. La tenue des hôtesses de l’air et des stewards de la compagnie rappelle d’ailleurs ce coloris peu répandu.
